The Wine Shed

We walked into this place with absolutely no idea of what to expect. 'A Wineshed?' We felt as if we had walked onto a movie set for a movie set in the south of France,it was just stunning. So many views, so much beauty. everywhere we looked there was another amazingly picturesque view. We just sat down and allowed ourselves to absorb the Mediteranean atmosphere and environment. Not too arranged and perfect as the English can do, not too natural as the Greeks often do. It felt just perfect for romance.

The place is divided into five main areas, two outside and three inside.Outside there is a grassed room area with a swinging love seat, a childrens play area, and outdoor tables some out on the lawn and some [pictured below] on the outside deck, The second area is a courtyard with white chip seal, a fountain, olive trees, a barn with amazing barn doors, macrocarpa outdoor furniture, bric a brac, a second hand 'farmers market' shop, lavender, petanque, decks with outdoor tables and covered with grape vines. Indoor there are three areas, the main dining room on the ground floor, an upstairs dining room and a conservatory on the North side of the building.

It is just one of the most visually romantic places I have ever been. It opens in November each year and although apparently open 7 days a week, it closes unpredictably in the evening so a phone booking will inform you as to the hours.

We haven't eaten there yet, but my new husband of two weeks has promised to take me next week! I'll let you know how it goes.
